-
Seek immediate medical treatment. Often
injuries which at first seem minor become serious.
-
Notify your immediate supervisor right away.
Most employers maintain forms for reporting of injuries.
-
Request that your employer file the statutory
Report of Injury, immediately. When employers neglect this
requirement, you are at a disadvantage.
-
Follow the specified medical directions.
Often, employer’s workers’ compensation carriers try to deny
workers’ compensation claims due to an employee’s failure to
follow medical directions.
-
Get the name, title and telephone number of
any adjuster or case manager assigned to your claim by the
employer’s insurance carrier.
-
Keep copies of all medical and claim documents
provided to you.
-
If your injury arose out of an automobile
collision with another vehicle, do not speak with any
representative of the other driver’s insurance company without
first speaking with us.
-
If your injury gives rise to any personal
injury claim, whether upon your own uninsured or underinsured
motorists coverage, or upon the homeowners insurance coverage
of a third party, again speak with us before giving any
statement to an insurance company.
-
If you are required to give a statement to a
workers’ compensation case manager or adjuster, give us that
person’s name, telephone number and the circumstances
surrounding the taking of the statement.
-
Call us immediately. It is never too soon for
us to begin representing you. The insurance company will
always be represented.
